This chilli is a Naga (Bhut Jolokia) x Douglah cross, a rare variety that ripens from green to red with a great fruity flavour. Chilli Naglah has been measured at the magic 1,000,000 shu.
Nagalah-(Capsicum chinense)-This is a cross strain of the Trinidad 7 Pot Douglah and the Red Bhut Jolokia. It produces very bumpy rough looking red pods that have extreme heat. It has a very upfront fast burn but a sweetness from the Naga at the end. They are very prolific and sometimes produce better than regulag Bhuts or Nagas. The Nagalah peppers get up to 3 inches long and about maximum inch in diameter. The Nagalah chile plants grow up to 4 feet tall.
Naglah chilli is the result of successful cross made by the New Mexico University Chilli Pepper Institute.The Plant is a member of the Capsicum chinense family. Over the years this plant has proved to be very stable. The pods have a wrinkled appearance (Bhut Jolokia) x Douglah cross is quite a rare variety.The plants have a paler leaf color than most chilli plants and the pods ripen from green to red with a great fruity flavor. Warning this chilli is extreme as far as heat is concerned. It has been measured at a blistering 1,000,000 shu.
